- Updated: 27 February 2026
- Campaign: Ramadan Relief 2026
- Campaign Period: 28 February 2026 to 19 March 2026 (inclusive), unless ended earlier
These Donation Campaign Terms (“Donation Terms”) apply to the optional donation feature made available via the TalkRemit Services during the Campaign Period.
These Donation Terms apply in addition to the TalkRemit Customer Agreement. In the event of conflict, these Donation Terms apply solely in relation to the donation feature.
By selecting a donation and providing consent, you agree to be bound by these Donation Terms.
1. Voluntary Nature and Regulatory Status
1.1 The donation feature is entirely voluntary. You are not required to donate in order to use TalkRemit’s remittance services.
1.2 TalkRemit is not a registered charity. Donations are not tax-deductible unless expressly stated by applicable law in your jurisdiction.
1.3 TalkRemit acts solely as a payment intermediary for the collection and onward transfer of donations under this Campaign.
1.4 Nothing in this Campaign constitutes charitable advice, financial advice, or a guarantee of humanitarian outcomes.
2. Eligibility and Corridor Restriction
2.1 The donation feature is available only in connection with remittance transactions where Somalia is the Receiving Country.
2.2 Standalone donations are not permitted.
2.3 TalkRemit reserves the right to restrict or suspend access to the donation feature for compliance, sanctions, regulatory, or risk management reasons.
3. Customer Consent and Transparency
3.1 Before making a donation, you must open and view these Donation Terms via the hyperlink provided at checkout.
3.2 The consent checkbox will only become available after you have accessed the Terms.
3.3 You must actively confirm:
“I confirm that I have opened, read, and understood the Donation Campaign Terms, and I voluntarily authorise TalkRemit to process this separate donation in accordance with those terms.”
3.4 Donations are displayed as a separate line item from the remittance amount, fees, and exchange rate.
3.5 An electronic record of consent, including timestamp and applicable Terms version, will be retained.
4. Legal Characterisation of Funds and Safeguarding
4.1 Donation amounts are processed as a separate payment instruction from your remittance transaction.
4.2 Until transferred onward to Dahabshiil Charity Foundation, (“the designated Campaign partner”), donation funds are treated in accordance with applicable safeguarding obligations under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 and the Payment Services Regulations 2017.
4.3 Donation funds are recorded separately within TalkRemit’s systems and are not treated as operational revenue or company income.
4.4 Once transferred onward to the designated Campaign partner, safeguarding obligations cease in respect of those specific funds.
5. Matching Contribution and Cap
5.1 TalkRemit will match eligible customer donations in the same currency as donated, up to an aggregate campaign cap equivalent to USD $250,000.
5.2 Once the cap is reached, matching will cease automatically.
5.3 TalkRemit reserves the right to amend, suspend, or terminate the matching component for compliance, regulatory, operational, or risk management reasons.
5.4 Matching commitments do not create a trust, escrow, or legally segregated obligation beyond the stated cap.
6. Campaign Partner and Oversight
6.1 Donations and matching funds are transferred to the designated Campaign partner for onward distribution in Somalia.
6.2 Dahabshiil Charity Foundation is not a registered UK charity.
6.3 TalkRemit has conducted due diligence on the Campaign partner consistent with its AML & CTF Policy
6.4 TalkRemit remains independently responsible for compliance with applicable sanctions and financial crime regulations and does not rely solely on the Campaign partner’s screening.

7.2 TalkRemit may delay, suspend, or reject donations where required to comply with applicable laws or regulatory obligations.
7.3 Monitoring is performed at customer level and may include aggregation with related remittance transactions.
8. Refunds and Chargebacks
8.1 Donations are non-refundable once processed, except where required by law.
8.2 If a remittance is cancelled before execution and the donation has not yet been transferred onward, TalkRemit may refund the donation where operationally feasible.
8.3 If funds have been transferred onward, refunds are not possible.
8.4 Chargebacks and reversals are handled in accordance with the Customer Agreement and applicable law.
